    Published reasons for rejection

    • Non-frontal or side-facing pose can fail the stated requirement.
    • Eyes must be visible/open as stated.
    • Spectacle glare, dark or coloured glasses can make the photograph unacceptable.
    • Caps/hats are restricted; any permitted religious covering must leave required facial features visible.
    • Unclear photograph, signature, thumb impression or declaration can lead to rejection.

Standard wording: 'I, ______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.' Copy the exact live-portal wording.

How you should look in the photograph

  • Spectacles Conditions apply

    Permitted only when reflections are absent and eyes are clearly visible.

    The notice: “no reflections”

  • Caps and head coverings Conditions apply

    Caps/hats/dark glasses are not acceptable; religious headwear is allowed if it does not cover the face.

    The notice: “Religious headwear is allowed”

  • Colour Required

    A colour photograph — black and white will not be accepted.

  • Eyes Required

    Both eyes open and clearly visible.

  • Pose Required

    Face the camera straight on — no side or three-quarter angle.
